Cold systems — A/B polyol + MDI (mold systems)
Two-component polyurethane systems for mold making. Component A — polyol, component **B — MDI-based prepolymer. Cure at room temperature (25-40 ℃), without an oven. TIMOL supplies them for sale**.
Materials in the line
| Material | Shore A | A:B | Gel time | Tensile | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DM1250 (50 Shore A) | 50 | 1:1 | 15-16 min/30℃ | 7 MPa | soft flexible molds |
| DM1280 (80 Shore A) | 80 | 1:1 | 6-8 min/30℃ | 10 MPa | stiffer molds |
Common characteristics
- Room-temperature curing, fast demolding; color adjustable with
pigment; finished products are transparent, abrasion-resistant, water-resistant, elastic.
- Working temperature 25-40 ℃; ratio A:B = 1:1; packaging 20/200 kg;
shelf life 12 months.
- The material sets to a demoldable state in 30-60 min (thin sections <3 mm — longer).
Applications
Making polyurethane molds: for footwear, concrete, etc. Can replace silicone rubber for producing artificial stone.
Safety
Same as for hot systems: ventilation, PPE, eye protection, avoid moisture in opened containers.
FAQ
Q: Is an oven required for cold systems? A: No. They cure at room temperature 25-40 ℃, unlike the hot Hot System.
Q: How do 50 and 80 differ? A: DM1250 (50 Shore A) (Shore A 50) — softer, more flexible molds; DM1280 (80 Shore A) (Shore A 80) — harder, with a shorter gel time (6-8 min vs 15-16 min).
Q: Can they replace silicone? A: Yes, these systems are suitable as a silicone rubber replacement for artificial stone.
