Hot systems — TDI prepolymers + MOCA (hot casting)
A family of polyurethane TDI-based prepolymers cured with the diamine MOCA in hot casting (prepolymer heated to 80-85 ℃, MOCA ~120 ℃, mold 95-110 ℃). TIMOL processes them in-house into finished products and sells the raw material to processors.
Materials in the line
| Material | Shore A | Base | NCO% | Feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TDI-2135 (85A) | 85 | PTMEG | 3.5 | softest, rebound 61%, tensile 87 MPa |
| TDI-3140 (89A) | 89 | polyether | 4.0 | versatile, low viscosity, heat resistance |
| TDI-2162 (95A) | 95 | PTMEG | 6.2 | hardest, Shore D 49, rigid loaded parts |
Common characteristics
- Appearance: white liquid; curative — MOCA; prepolymer/MOCA mixing at 85/120 ℃.
- Packaging: 20 kg / 200 kg steel drums; shelf life 12 months;
store in a cool dry place, opened containers — under nitrogen.
- Use the whole batch at once (MOCA solidifies below working temperature).
Applications (common for the line)
Rods, rollers, gaskets, sheets, industrial rollers, wear-resistant screens for mineral extraction, seals and other PU-elastomer products. Industries: mining, quarrying, oil and gas.
Safety
Good ventilation; protective gloves/clothing/goggles; avoid skin contact (allergy possible). In case of eye contact — rinse ≥15 min and see a doctor.
FAQ
Q: How do hot systems differ from cold ones? A: Hot (TDI + MOCA) require heating to 80-120 ℃ and yield wear-resistant parts under load; cold (Cold System) cure at room temperature and are intended for molds.
Q: Which hardness to choose? A: 85A (TDI-2135 (85A)) — dynamics/impact/rebound; 89A (TDI-3140 (89A)) — versatile; 95A (TDI-2162 (95A)) — rigid, heavily loaded assemblies.
Q: Does TIMOL only sell the raw material or also make products from it? A: Both — hot systems we process ourselves into finished products and sell as raw material.
