Polyurethane in Pipe Rolling Production

Polyurethane in Industry

There are relatively few natural and synthetic materials used in pipe rolling production. Polyurethane — a material made from isocyanate and polyol — is one of them. It has a high level of wear resistance and is designed for use under elevated mechanical and dynamic loads.

In certain cases, it replaces rubber, natural rubber and some expensive metals. Polyurethane withstands high temperatures of up to 260°C. The use of polyurethane in pipe rolling production covers the manufacture of rollers, rolls, idler supports, gears, sprockets, bushings, seals, couplings and bandages. It's therefore very important that the base material offer the following advantages:

It's also worth noting that the material is unaffected by weather conditions, organic oils, gasoline, acids, etc. It is frost-resistant and corrosion-resistant. This is why it is used extensively in pipe rolling production.
